Learn how to tag YouTube videos to get more views. We'll start with a few tips for tags. Only use tags that are related to your videos. Use all four of the popular tag types on every video. Specific Tags - one word keywords that describe the video, compound Tags - multiple words that describe the video, generic Tags - general words that describe the video, and misspelled keywords.
Now that you know the types of tags or keywords lets talk about a tool that will help you find great tags for your videos. TubeBuddy has a suggested tag tool that helps you increase the chances of your video being discovered in search and helps it show up in the related videos section. Once you sign up for TubeBuddy, you can access the suggested tags tool from the Videos Manager page, the Info and Settings page, or the upload page. We'll start on the Video Manager page, click on the TubeBuddy drop down, and select Suggested Tags.
The suggested for search list consists of tags that could increase the number of views through YouTube search. Select the tags from these lists that have a high score and are related to your videos content. You can click the green plus sign to add the tag to your video. The green check mark means the tag is already being used in your video. Click on the three dots on the left to view the score analysis. The eye icon shows how many views have been generated on the video by this tag. The tag icon shows how many top ranking videos use this tag. The pencil icon shows how many times this term is used in the video title and first two lines of the description. The bottom icon shows where the video ranks in the top 60 search results on YouTube for the tag. All of these values are used to calculate the score. Auto suggested compound tags can be added to your video from the left hand side of the screen.
The Suggested for Related list help drive traffic to your videos from other related videos on YouTube. The only difference in the score analysis is that the eye icon provides the number of views your channel has received from that tag.
Now that we're done with the Suggested tags tool lets look at how to beg, borrow, and borrow tags from videos with high view counts. Access a video with a high view count and click on the tags button. Then click on the copy tags button and paste them popular tags to your video on the edit page.
Remember it takes more than tags to get more video views. The have to have a good title, a good description, a good thumbnail, and great content. If you want to watch more videos on how to improve your YouTube channel and get more views subscribe to tips 4 the tube.
